V1.0 is released!
It's been a while, but I've finally overcome a hurdle that was preventing me from allowing myself to update Nut Grab.
The spawning system
The system I had during the game jam wasn't great and to be honest it still isn't where I'd like it to be but that's far beyond my current capabilities. That said, I've rewritten it a couple of times, improving it significantly to make it fairer and more consistent. I've tweaked the pacing as well so it should have a nicer difficulty curve to it. This was the single biggest thing I felt I needed to fix before making it a "v1.0".
Pulling the trigger
There's still more I want to do with Nut Grab but I decided to push this out now for the following reason; I set myself a goal very early in 2017 to make $1 (via a non-family member) from my first game this year. If I kept squeezing in the polish and features I wanted, I would fail that challenge and it was important to me to do everything I could to succeed. I might still fail, because whether or not someone chooses to support my effort is out of my hands. All I can do is sit back and be happy I did everything I could.
So, enjoy v1.0! If you enjoy the minute or so it takes to play Nut Grab, please spread the word, I'd be extremely grateful. And—as usual—please let me know if you find any issues or have any feedback. I'm hungry to learn. I want to be better at this.
